An op-ed piece by The Editorial Board of The Campus. describes the multiple ways that the administration failed to react appropriately to the canceled Legutko lecture. The cancellation dismissed the effort that student organizers had put into planning a non-disruptive/ non-violent protest that would have complied with Middlebury's new rules on student protesting. The student body was not informed of the semi-private talk that Legutko had with Professor Dickinson's PSCI class. This stripped them of their ability to protest/challenge Legutko's ideas/ exercise their own freedom of speech.
