Professor Manley included a cartoon that joked about slavery in her class slideshow. The cartoon itself depicted a slave ship crossing the ocean, with a person strapped to the back of the ship. The caption of the cartoon read "The better-equipped slave ships, of course, always carried a spare". Manley later apologized for her actions in response to an email from The Campus. This speaks to the need for mandatory bias training for professors.
