Title
Forum supports divestment
Subject
Students participating in the Student Forum discussion brought up the issue of Apartheid in South Africa and called for Middlebury College to completely divest all of the funds that go to companies that do business in South Africa. This is because the students feel that the Sullivan Principles are inadequate "as means of alleviating, to any great degree, the problems of apartheid". The students, Layn Saint Louis and Charles King Mallory called on the Student Forum to put pressure on the administration to divest, which would hopefully spur other New England colleges to do the same.
