Title

Twilight Examines Minority Life: Report Terms College ' Still Too White"

Subject

Twilight Committee completes its 2-year review of "minority" life at Middlebury. The report made its own recommendations in the major areas that are mentioned in the MLK Committee Report (minority faculty, student life curriculum, recruitment), as well as reviewing the state of the King Committee proposals. Recommendations included hiring more minority faculty (immediate hiring of visiting minority professors for winter semester"), "the creation of 'two minority studies' concentrations," and an increase in efforts to recruit minority students, and encouragement of cultural organizations (i.e. BSU) to basically take more initiative.
