Black Faculty: A Minority of One
Dublin Core
Title
Black Faculty: A Minority of One
Subject
The College hired its first black faculty member in 1973. 10 years later, there is still only one black faculty member part at Middlebury, Richard Davis, the Dean of the Chinese and Japanese Schools and Visiting Assistant Professor of History. Apparently, the biggest challenge in hiring black faculty is the fact that there is a "total lack of black communities in the area."
