Black Literature Seminars: Writing Black Experience

Dublin Core

Title

Black Literature Seminars: Writing Black Experience

Subject

This piece is very critical of the Black literature seminars held on campus for J-term. The author criticizes the two black authors for their alleged lack of organization and references to works that the audience was unfamiliar with. Further, when asked if Middlebury should teach black literature, the two speakers said yes, on the condition that the person teaching black literature is black, this response did not sit well with the author of this piece who found that answer to be contradictory.
