In reference to the November 1881 issue of The Campus, where the author stated that "the result of the war has not essentially altered the relations of the two races." The author disagrees with this point as the equivocation is superficial and ignorant, but supports it with evidence and analogies that are rooted in racism (i.e. he compares Black people to horses that were "owned" and now are "free").
