Title

Can you hear us now, President Patton?

Subject

Organizers of the Black Lives Matter and Justice for Breonna Taylor protest on September 25th wrote a letter to President Patton. Authors tell of blatant racism that was directed at Rodney Adams on the same Friday. The authors call for more action to be taken by the College administration in order to support the Black community. Authors ask why Patton DID NOT attend the march/protest, as well as why she and her office have been complacent in addressing racist occurrences on campus.

Coverage

"We stepped out of my car and were reduced to just “n******” by a white male student — and a bystanding white male did nothing to stop it."

"We want an explanation as to why you were not in attendance at the march in solidarity with Black lives, why you did not recognize the accomplishments of the college community, and why you failed to acknowledge the implications of a racially charged incident that same night in a timely manner. "
