Title
Faculty for Inclusive Community Discuss Vision for College
Subject
In response to the group of 100 or so faculty members that signed a letter condemning the Charles Murray protest and in response to the administration’s handling of the Addis Fouche-Channer case, a caucus of Middlebury faculty called Faculty for an Inclusive Community formed. They are comprised of faculty who have different opinions on the Charles Murray situation, support Addis Fouche-Channer in her fight against racial profiling, and intend to sponsor and conduct many different events that they believe can create a more inclusive campus space.

Coverage
"While stressing the importance of both freedom of speech and inclusivity, the caucus asserts that 'such freedom comes with the obligation that it be exercised responsibly, especially when offering the platform of our campus to outside speakers who may undermine our culture of inclusivity.' The group has since submitted two additional op-eds. The first, in September, voiced support for Addis Fouche-Channer ‘17 following a report by The Campus of racial profiling.”
