Fighting bias by finding it within ourselves

Fighting bias by finding it within ourselves

The author speaks of their experience taking an implicit bias test online and her results stating that she was "slightly more favorable ... toward white people than toward African-Americans". Urges readers to confront their own biases and do something about them, instead of being complacent. Additionally, the author rejects the idea of a "post-racial" society. She also gives context to her shock about being racially biased, saying things like she has a black best friend and a black American Girl Doll.
