Title

Protesters Condemn Show's "Sexist", "Racist" Content

Subject

Students protested an MCAB-sponsored event "The Art of Kissing", which was a performance by William Cane that had previously been staged in multiple colleges across the country. Students' main issue was that it promoted gender roles and was incredibly heteronormative, as well as romanticized rape culture and sexual coercion. In terms of race, students took serious issue with the roleplaying of certain styles of kissing that were characterized as "Asian" and not only promoted racist stereotypes but ridiculed the Asian and Pacific Islander culture.
