Students protest lack of attention to diversity
Dublin Core
Title
Students protest lack of attention to diversity
Subject
The newly formed Student Coalition for a Safer Community (SCS) organized a sit-in at McCullough. Their purpose at this event was to voice a list of demands toward College President McCardell, whose interview in The Campus was deemed "dismissive of the issues of racism, homophobia, and sexism" that were present at Middlebury. Those demands included the establishment of a Diversity Affairs Office to address the concerns of BIPOC, international, "students from disadvantaged backgrounds", and LGBTQ students.
