Professor's letter to the editor in response to the op-ed written by Mary-Louise Romney admits to personal white apathy, but then argues that white students should not be blamed for not attending the events because (the author argues) "How many black students would attend events at 'White Week at Middlebury'?" Professor seems to draw the line with supposed "black apathy" by commenting that there have been various times when black students don't attend his class on time.
