Coverage
"Admissions requirements for Negro students will be one of the major problems facing the commission. Middlebury would like to take all qualified students and in effect be 'colorblind,' said O'Brien, but he noted that the education gap of the 'disadvantaged' student coming from a 'second rate educational background,' tends to make the students look less qualified than one coming from a better educational background."
"As of last fall, Middlebury had 21 Black students, according to a statement sent to the department of Health, Education, and Welfare."
