Members of various student organizations expressed concern with Nesbitt's lack of experience/education on Latinx and Asian-American "issues", but apparently has taken steps to educate himself. Nesbitt was endorsed by the President of the AAA. According to Nesbitt, an alumnus of Middlebury, "Things are better in my view. There are more resources that are devoted to diversity".
